Telehealth Medical Service and Telemedicine Medical Services for Texas based Group Plans: In accordance with Chapter 1455 of the Texas Insurance Code, Global Expatriate Health plans provide benefits for covered services that are appropriately provided through Telehealth Medical Service and Telemedicine Medical Services, subject to the terms and conditions of the Plan. In-person contact between a health care Provider and the patient is not required for these services, and the type of setting where these services are provided is not limited. Telehealth Medical Service and Telemedicine Medical Services does not include consultations between the patient and the health care Provider, or between health care Providers, by telephone, facsimile machine, or electronic mail. Equipment costs and transmission costs associated with Telehealth Medical Service and Telemedicine Medical Services are not reimbursable.
Notice to Illinois Insured Persons in November 17, 2013 Disaster Areas: This notice is directed to consumers located in counties declared disaster areas by Governor Quinn in the aftermath of the November 17, 2013 tornadoes and storms. These counties include: Champaign, Douglas, Fayette, Grundy, Jasper, LaSalle, Massac, Pope, Tazewell, Vermillion, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, Will and Woodford. There is a moratorium on cancellation and nonrenewal notices issued on or after November 10, 2013 to any insured affected by this disaster in these counties. Notices to those impacted in these areas will not resume until on or after January 11, 2014. Affected insured persons will be granted an extension for requirements such as submission of a claim or proof of loss, reporting of information, submission of bills or premium payments.
